The Undercover Dream Lovers is the solo project of Los Angeles-based musician and producer Matt Koenig. Blending danceable grooves with dream pop textures and retro-futuristic flair, Koenig has built a sonic world that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Since launching the project in 2016, he’s released a steady flow of singles, EPs, and two full-length albums: It’s All In Your Head (2020) and Time Lapse (2024).

Known for his hypnotic melodies and self-produced tracks, Matt draws influence from artists like Daft Punk, Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and The Beatles. His songs have landed major playlist support and been featured in sync placements on AppleTV+, FX, and Prime Video.

In 2025, The Undercover Dream Lovers began releasing a series of monthly singles, including “Good Time,” “Back Again,” and “makin you proud,” signaling a more fluid and intuitive approach to sharing music. Live, Koenig has toured with Parcels, Poolside, and L’Imperatrice, bringing his immersive sound to audiences around the world.
